Congratulations Young Projects on winning this year's Times Square Valentine Heart competition! I'm also excited to announce our collaboration. I'll be working closely with Young Projects in developing the wayfinding and information graphics for the final "Match-Maker" installation. A Modernist Dream

As semifinalists for the Add-On '13 competition, we were awarded a week at the dreamlike Hatch Cottage. Designed by Jack Hall in 1960 for Robert and Ruth Hatch, the cottage was conceived as simple cubes in a grid matrix. We were the first guests of the cottage since the Cape Cod Modernist House Trust renovated this historic beach residence overlooking the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Big Red

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Jeff Koon's, I mean Paul McCarthy's, inflated 80' tall dog that welcomed us to this year's Frieze Art Fair. I'm sure I wasn't the only visitor confused!

Legend at Work

On occasion we get the opportunity to collaborate with legends. Seymour Chwast created this smart, fun, and simple cover illustration for the Creative Minds at Work issue of Metropolis. Get your own signed copy on the newsstand before they're all gone! pushpininc.com

A Nouvel Idea

A beautifully restored carousel housed in a simple glass box by French architect, Jean Nouvel, is a site to see and place to be. For only $2, you can pony up and go back in time riding Jane's Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park. This 1922 gem has become one of my most treasured spots. I love, love, love it! janescarousel.com

Vanishing Point

I think I've just found my new favorite museum—don't worry, Dia:Beacon, I still love you. Herzog & de Meuron's recently unveiled Parrish Art Museum on Long Island is a refreshingly simple double shed with thoughtful materials and details. The art collection, framed by the museum's white walls and exposed ceiling joists, is also quite lovely.

A foggy day proved to be an ideal setting for my visit. From certain vantage points, the building vanished into the distance, as if extending infinitely into the landscape. parrishart.org

Wall of Words

I recently attended a Chinese letterpress workshop in Hong Kong as part of ATypI's annual conference. If you missed my blog post for Metropolis, check it out! metropolismag.com
